This Sunday, 23rd April, 42 runners will take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon in support of the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), the UK’s leading charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. CALM is a partner of Heads Together, the official charity of the London Marathon spearheaded by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, who will be cheering on CALM runners.

Suicide is the single biggest killer of men aged 20-45 in the UK, with men accounting for 78% of all suicides. By concentrating on a cohort of middle aged men within mental health services, the NCISH report addresses only 1/4 of male suicides in the UK. This report is a great start, but the unanswered question here is why are men, for the most part, not even considering asking for help?
