UK music rolls out the red carpet for CALM

Hot on the heels of the comedy industry’s support for CALM, the music sector is throwing their weight behind us and our campaign to reduce suicide among young men, with the establishment of a new board of industry big-hitters.

CALM, which was set up four years ago with the backing of people such as the late Anthony Wilson, has created a dedicated music board to take advantage of the influx of new support.

The new music board will focus on raising awareness of CALM and its activities across the music business, as well as developing fund-raising and profile-building initiatives.

CALM chief executive Jane Powell says, “We’ve already been growing fast, but the next 12 months are going to be crucial to taking the charity up to the next level. I’d like to say a huge thank you for this amazing support from across the music and entertainment industries. These are busy people, it means a lot to us.”

Music Board chair Chris Price says, “The CALM Music Board has got off to a fantastic start. The music industry is crucial to reaching young men with a message and in a manner they can identify with, so we are thrilled to have the support of so broad a range of music and media gatekeepers. With their reach and campaign creativity, the potential for making a difference in young men’s lives has increased exponentially.”
