LONDONERS URGED TO ‘MIND THE CHAP’ DURING MEN’S HEALTH WEEK

Mind The Chap is back this Men's Health Week, with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) handing out free limited-edition Oyster Card holders at various London tube and rail stations, targeting thousands of commuters with the slogan ‘Mind The Chap’ to serve as a reminder that men are three times more likely than women to die by suicide.

This Sunday, 23rd April, 42 runners will take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon in support of the ​Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), the UK’s leading charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. CALM is a partner of Heads Together, the official charity of the London Marathon spearheaded by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, who will be cheering on CALM runners.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) has released the results of a suicide awareness survey to coincide with today’s new suicide figures that show 75% of UK suicides are male. Now 1 in 3 people in the UK are aware that suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45.

​The Campaign Against Living Miserably (​CALM), Arsenal in the Community and QPR Community Trust have teamed up with local dad Giancarlo Gaglione to host a five-a-side World Cup football tournament to raise awareness of male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. The event will take place in north London this Sunday, 7 August.

This Sunday (10th Jan 2016) Jamie Ramsay will land at Heathrow airport and run the final leg of his 16-month expedition in aid of CALM that saw him become the first Britain to run 17,000km from Vancouver, Canada, to Buenos Aires, Argentina. CALM & Jamie invite fellow runners to join him for his #ForrestGumpFinish as he runs from Heathrow Airport to College Green opposite the Houses of Parliament.
